Sea World

In case you didn't know, we took a trip to San Diego to visit some Steele family. Brooks's dad came from a HUGE family and most of them are in California.

Here are some pics of Asher at Sea World.

He LOVED looking in the whale tank. He kept shouting, "A wayow! A wayow!" (a whale).

Here they are in the sesame street ride. Asher loved it and kept shouting, "Hi mom!" I almost cried because they wouldn't let the pregnant lady ride. Hahaha.

He liked trying to touch the manta rays even though he never actually touched them because they were swimming too deep.

We were at the park from 10 to 4 and Asher was really good and had tons of fun the whole time. He fell asleep in the car before we even got out of the parking lot. So cute. He fell in love with a penguin so we bought it for him and he basically hugged it the rest of the day.

delectable little devils

Today, I had a major hankering for deviled eggs. It could be because it's Easter-time and deviled eggs are always on the menu at family parties. I love them. Love. So I whipped up a batch of my own. It was my very first time making them!

I followed Betty Crocker's recipe (thanks for the tip Jenny). That Betty, I'm so glad she put all her good food into a book for the whole world to use.

Betty C's Deviled Eggs

6 eggs hard cooked and peeled - psst... do you know the right way to hard boil eggs?
3 T mayo
1/2 tsp ground mustard (but seriously? who has that on hand? I just used mustard from a bottle)
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
paprika

Gently slice the eggs in half length-wise. Pop out the yolks into a small bowl. Mash the yolks with a fork to a fine crumble. Stir in mayo, mustard, salt, and pepper. Whip it up good! Scoop some yolk mixture into each egg and sprinkle with paprika. And if you're like me, do your best not to eat the whole plate in one siting!

Proud Moment

This is one of my most proud parent moments yet.

Two

Ash turned two . . . and apparently had a blast playing with some friends at Kangaroo Zoo.
