Milk & Sugar Muffins

I've been loving these muffins lately. I grew up eating them for breakfast but lately we've been eating them for an evening snack. You'll probably think this is weird unless you're one of my siblings, but you eat the muffins with milk poured over them and sprinkled with sugar. So good!
MILK & SUGAR MUFFINS

1 3/4 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup oil

Stir together dry ingredients. Beat the egg with the milk and oil. Make a hole in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the egg mixture. Stir until wet. Batter will be lumpy. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 min. Makes 8-10 muffins. Serve warm. Slice in half. Pour over with milk and sprinkle with sugar.

spring flats

I just wanted to share my girly excitement about my new spring flats and comfy wide leg jeans, both of which I got on sale! Brooks returns from a weekend in Utah tonight. Zibby and I have been having a lot of fun...he lays on the grass and I go shopping. Brooks likes me to be busy when he is out of town (which isn't that often) so this time I helped paint the neighbors apartment, went shopping, saw Horton Hears a Who, and enjoyed a tasty dinner at Johnny's Pizza. I had a blast. He might need to go out of town more often....JUST KIDDING! Can't wait til you get home Brooks!

back and at it

I feel like I just got back from vacation even though we didn't go anywhere. I took a few days off from work and the internet while my parents came to Georgia to visit. It was a blast. They were here for about 4 days and after they left we were really bored. We enjoyed lots of good food and a few tornado scares. Thanks for coming out mom and dad!

Some of my favorite parts of their trip were:
  • playing Wii with the parents
  • the food (best squash casserole I've ever tasted)
  • the nice weather (except for the tornadoes)
  • the daffodils
  • the stinky bait and tackle store where dad bought boiled peanuts (see photo)

Also, there are new updates at The Village Shop blog. I just posted a tutorial and giveaway for a change purse. The purse is featured below and is offered in three designs. I hope you'll go check it out.

no kids?...no problem!

We don't have kids, so instead we took our dog to an Easter egg hunt. Go ahead, laugh. It was an Easter egg hung just for doggies. Sure enough the eggs were full of doggy treats. We had a lot of fun and Zibby came away with a good stash....of milk bones. Look how many eggs he found!

***after reading recent comments I want to make a few points:***
Athens is a dog town so they have tons of things to do with your dogs...something I've never seen before. Nobody in Utah ever brings their dog out of the back yard.
I died laughing in the car on the way to the hunt AND while we were there, some of those people were really hard core! FUNNY!
Zibby had no idea what was going on but he definitely looks happy in that picture!

lets play

I've been trying to post this video for a few weeks and it hasn't been working. Really, there's nothing wrong with blogger. It was entirely user error. Anyhow, here is a great video that Brooks got of me playing with Zibby. This day he found my feet really entertaining. Oh and don't fret, he's not as scary as he sounds. He's just playing!

Goodbye Jaycee Carroll

Well last night was Jaycee Carroll's last regular season home game as a Utah State Aggie. He will truly be missed. Here are a couple of pictures of Bonny and I watching the game on a giant projector in the business building auditorium. I was wearing my shirt that Jaycee signed 4 years ago as a freshman.
Go Aggies!
