Baked Mac

Trying a new recipe each Sunday is easy when some of them are like this:

Home-Baked Macaroni and Cheese

1 pkg (14oz) Macaroni & Cheese Dinner
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided in half
1/2 cup Sour Cream
1/4 tsp ground red pepper (cayenne)
6 Ritz crackers, crushed (about 1/4 cup)
1 T butter or margarine, melted

Preheat oven to 375F. Prepare dinner as directed on package. Stir in 1/2 cup of the cheddar cheese, the sour cream and pepper

Spoon into greased casserole dish; sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and combined cracker crumbs and butter
. Bake 20 min. Let stand 5 min before serving.

The photo does not do it justice. How could something so loaded with cheese and sour cream not be good!? It was delicious and an easy make! I'm sure there is some way to make it less artery clogging. Just use low fat everything. I'm not sure how much better it will be for you but at least you'll feel better about eating it.

This recipe was from one of my favorite recipe sources: Kraft Food & Family magazine. It's free (sign up here) and the recipes in it are awesome because they're so easy!

So I made a confession to Brooks today. . . I'm a blog stocker. People I know, people I don't know, people I sort of know. I stock blogs! Whew!!!!!! It feels so good to get that off my chest =) haha. . so Brooks found me on facebook and instead of doing the normal questions like What are you up to? Where are you at? How's school? I knew all the answers. . . thanks to you faithful blogging! I have self diagnosed that I have adult ADD and when I am totally bored at work- I start checking blogs. I start with the people who actually invited me to visit their blog- like Katey Teece and such. But on days that I'm REALLY bored- I start clicking and I can't stop. One thing leads to another and then all of the sudden you realize that you know way too much about too many people that you don't really know. Luckily I felt like it was okay to stock you're blog. I wish we got to know each other better back in the Turnberry days- but you love the Format- I love the Format= we must be friends! Any who. . . now that you know I check you're blog on a regular basis- I will start leaving comments like this:

I LOVE Kraft magazine. I don't subscribe- but my roommate Aubrey does- which means meals for me and leftovers for lunch! It doesn't get any better than that!

I love that Kraft magazine, too. I also love homemade mac and cheese. I have this recipe I make from scratch which is really good, of course not as easy as yours.

K first off...I love that Nettie has admitted to her blog stocking problem and can now freely comment on this great blog! Secondly, thanks to both of you for introducing me to The Format...Bonny for giving me the music and then Nettie talking about it enough that I started listening. Now I love them as well.

Bon that mac and cheese looks tasty. I love cheesy mac and cheese...too bad it's SO not healthy! :)
