Today...

...was not normal. Work was incredibly busy which is not normal for me. Brooks picked me up from work which is not normal for me (I usually ride the bus). On the way home our car achieved 111,111.1 miles. I wish I would have had my camera. We took Zibby to the dog park for a while. There was this strange guy there who had a gut like he was pregnant with twins and two dogs who he claims were Australian cattle dogs. I was certain they were a mutt mix of every dog breed and a giant rat. There is a sample photo below but the dogs were much fatter, shorter, smaller heads, and patchy gray hair. No offense to the Australians, but every "Australian" dog I've ever heard of has been rather odd looking...not normal. One was a little smaller than the other but still gross looking. Did I mention that they smelled? We couldn't get within 10 feet of the guy or the dogs. Gross! The bigger of the two smelled especially terrible while the smaller of the two ran around biting other dogs on the butt. No kidding....it bit Zibby on the butt (twice) to the point that he yelped in pain (don't worry, it didn't break skin). All the while, the pregnant looking male owner kept telling people it was just his instinct to bite in playful situations like that. I was so irritated at the time but now I'm just finding it all rather funny. Those dogs were not normal.

Later we ordered some pizza's from Pizza Hut. The Pizza Mia deal - 3 mediums for 5 bucks each. (there is no little ceaser's in GA). The pizza was gross, flat, tough, and not normal. So gross that we (I) even called the place back to tell them it was bad. I never got through to anyone after calling and being on hold for about 15 minutes and listening to a recording talking about the "quality" of their pizza. So we drove all the way back to demand money or new pizza. I was so fired up and I was going to be so demanding and firm with them. I carried the pizza's inside only to be intimidated by the customers and when I handed the pizza's to the guy I sheepishly said "uh...these are NOT good." And Brooks said "the dough tastes like leather" (it really did). We waited for a while with 7 other impatient customers who professed that they would check their pizza quality before they left. We got 3 new pizzas that looked a little more plump. (I know you're thinking that we don't need 3 mediums for just 2 of us but it is better than paying 12 bucks for one large...or is it? if that single pizza is really good?) When we got home the pizzas had cooled a touch and gone flat and tough. Not normal. We ate a few slices and put the rest (2.5 pizzas) in the fridge. Too bad it takes so much effort to be a responsible consumer.

We are now watching the new American Gladiators show (during the commercials of the NCAA Football National Chapionship game). Did you see it? That Helga gladiator is huge...not normal. The Wolf is appropriately very hairy but every time he does his howl I can't help but laugh. He is not normal. Overall it's fairly entertaining.

I really did make some new years non-resolution goals. I'll post them later.

Brooks and I made a fire in our fireplace the other night. You can't really see the flames but I promise they are there.

Ok, I'm not a stalker, just a lurker. I came across your blog - not sure exactly how (somehow I came across some girls' blogs from Utah and I got all fascinated with reading about the Utah lifestyle and LDS - it's soooo different to me). Anyway, I gotta tell ya - Pizza Hut is NOT the way to go! In Athens, Papa John's is THE BEST. Also, we do have Little Caesars in GA, but I only know of a few between Athens and Atlanta. Hope you're enjoying Athens! I'm a UGA grad, myself, and I live about 30 mins away in the lil town of Monroe. Check out my blog if you want, but I'm not a very good blogger. =)

So do you love the new AG? I won't lie, I'm entertained by it, but I'm kind of disappointed that it doesn't take itself as seriously as the old AG did. Whether or not it SHOULD be taken seriously is up to debate, but I liked the old one a lot more. A lot less fluff, a lot more competition to that one. This one is mostly just a freak show.

I wouldn't say I love it...but its very entertaining and yes, a freak show. Lots of things are so funny to me but nothing will ever compare to the original.

Your abnormal day makes me laugh. That pizza story is maddening!
But sometimes abnormal is fun. Or at least blog-worthy :)

How was the fire? Are those our tools I see? J/K, you can use them till I can get there. I think pizza quality has gone done overall. I never get a pizza that I'm in love with anymore. I saw a re-run yesterday on Oprah and the whole show was about pizza and going around the country finding the best pizza. Sorry to say but none of the places were in Athens and definitely not in Cartersville. :)
