Speak your mind

Remember the show "Kids Say the Darndest Things?" Kids make comments to or about me all the time. It's actually pretty funny. I hope you get a kick out of this.

Two feet away from me at the grocery store and shouting: "Whoa Mom! That lady is really small!"

A kid I'm acquainted with who is much shorter than me and usually very annoying (standing on tippy toes and hopping): "Hey! I'm as tall as you are!"

Sometimes adults say the darndest things too. People always ask me the weirdest questions. I can't help but laugh at them.

Them: "So, where do you buy your clothes?" Me: "Uh, you know, the mall or department stores, what did you think?"

Them: "Hey you're lucky, I bet you can wear kid clothes!" Me: "Uh, no, I don't like Miley Cyrus on my shirts"

Perhaps one of the funniest comments ever was said to me one day while I waited for the train after work. I noticed a middle aged, strange looking guy staring at me from the other side of the platform. A few minutes later I noticed him moving closer. Before I knew it he was right next to me and said "Are you from a village in the mountains?" I was like "No, are you?" He said, "No, I'm from Bountiful (smallish city north of SLC)." Then he continued to talk about how he heard there was a village of small people somewhere in the mountains or something. All I could think of was hobbits and tried my best to ignore him. Hilarious!

Watch this clip! You won't regret it.

Babe I am so sorry. If it makes you feel any better I get height comments as well. Usually having to do with being from the amazon. "Wow, you're big" is usually what I get. I don't know if that's any better than being called a hobbit.

"Whoa mom! That lady is really small!" Sorry, I laughed at that one. :) And where did the mountain village comment come from? People are so weird sometimes.

Oh man I remember that day the dude asked you if you were from a village. We were roommates when that happened. Good times really. Some people just don't think. I probably have been one of those stupid people who doesn't think before the stupid thing comes out of their mouth and then I totally regret it but the damage is already done. I usually focus more on the tall folks. Let's be honest, I'm not THAT much taller than you are!

Kind of random, but there is a community of "little people" that live in Salt Lake. Christian actually went out with his brother and my brother-in-law and saw it. It has gates and you can't get in, but everything is smaller (houses, ect.), to accomodate these people who are just made smaller. You would be tall in there:) May be that is where that man's comment came from. You get the small jokes, I get people telling me all of the time that I am too young to have 2 children! People need to keep their mouths shut.

Did Christian actually get inside ever? We've been over there. I haven't seen anything small but we did drive through the round-about driveway. I've read stuff about that place but don't really know what's true or not. Too bad I'm afraid of the excessive "no trespassing" signs. ha ha!

I don't think you are THAT short Bonny. I mean you are shorter than me, but not THAT much... people are weird. I would be proud to be short though, makes ya different, and I like different.

Oh I'm not ashamed. It's no anomaly and I love making fun of people who talk to me like it is. ha ha ha!

I love the village comment since you and Brooks (mostly Brooks) went to the village and you were both wigged out (mostly you). So when I read that one, I thought of you guys trying to find out more about the village.
