Too Much

So much for blogging over the holidays...now there is just too much to say! The trip was so great that I didn't even feel bad for ignoring our blog. First off...thanks a million to the Flynns for putting up with Zibby for 10 days while we were gone. We missed him like crazy!

The day before we left for Utah, Brooks surprised me with these beautiful flowers. They came wrapped in plastic in a tall vase. I decided to utilize my bloom box from my design mom giveaway winnings. I think it turned out nice:
We spent the first half of our trip with the Llewellyns. It was great! Some of my favorite things were:
playing the chimes on Christmas Eve:mom's stroganoff
SNOW!
Guitar Hero...especially when my dad and nephew Reese play together:
We spent the second half of our trip at the Steele's. I sure was cold up in Logan but it was totally worth it. Some of the best things about our stay were:

these chubby cheeks:
lots of lunches at the True Aggie Cafe (I recommend the Cordon Aggie Blue)
discovering Strawberry Spinach Salad (recipe here)
Aggie Basketball and last weeks NCAA player of the week:Here is a great pic of us and some of the Steele folks.
You can tell that they are a great bunch to hang out with.

Our travels went relatively well other than the fact that they lost our tickets somewhere in the cyber system of itineraries. Luckily they found us just in time and we got the last two seats on the plane to Utah. It was scary there for a bit and I almost freaked out because I was so ready to get home. Relatively well other than the extreme turbulence descending into Salt Lake City. I'm not talking a few little bumps...it was butterfly-in-the-stomach drops and side to side bouncing and tilting makes you ready to get out the barf bag in the seat back pocket. Relatively well other than the the woman who fell backwards down the escalator. I had no choice but to try to catch her otherwise she would have taken me with her and we would both be dead. I have to admit I saved us both but it turns out she was too tipsy drunk to notice that I AM A HERO! (picture me flexing my muscles).

I can't forget to mention the tasty dinner at Crown Burger the night we got to Salt Lake. We met our much missed friends Matt, Kelly, and Rachel and had our favorite hamburgers ever! Thanks for trucking through the nasty weather to meet us for dinner guys!

Are you kidding me that there was no highlight of helping me paint my family room? Ha Ha. I wish we got to see you more while you were here...

You catching a drunken lady falling backwards on the escalator is quite the mental image. So glad you enjoyed your time here in the freezing weather! That was quite a winter storm we had.
